Operating the Organization with Integrity and Transparency
The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Public Organization) or DASTA under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports has announced a plan to encourage integrity and transparency within the organization as of the fiscal year 2021.
The results of the Integrity & Transparency Assessment as of the fiscal year 2020 will be used as guidelines in drafting the plan to encourage integrity and transparency within the organization for the fiscal year 2021. The plan will include 7 measures as follows:
1.1 A disclosure of information to the public.
1.2 A permission for stakeholders to participate in the organization’s activities.
1.3 A transparency in a procurement process.
1.4 A management of corruption complaints.
1.5 A prevention of bribery.
1.6 A prevention of a conflict of interests.
1.7 An investigation of the use of discretion.
The 7 measures mentioned above are focusing on an organizational management with effectiveness and good governance, a development and a reinforcement of anti-corruption cultures, building an awareness of good governance among the personnel, and creating an access for the stakeholders and associates to participate in DASTA’s operations and see how the organization runs with transparency and integrity.
The strategies of the plan to encourage integrity and transparency within the organization for the fiscal year 2021 need to correspond with both the criteria of the Integrity & Transparency Assessment and the results of the assessment from the previous fiscal year. Also, the plan must allow the participation of DASTA’s personnel, its stakeholders, and associates to fully improve and strengthen an anti-corruption mechanism in the organization.
In the fiscal year 2020, DASTA has received an assessment result of 95.54 or in the AA level (good to very good) from the Integrity & Transparency Assessment (ITA). DASTA has been ranked in no. 1 among 55 public organizations and no. 37 out of 8,303 government agencies in the same assessment group.
Despite being ranked in the AA level (good to very good), DASTA will not stop improving. With a goal to either maintain or receive a better ranking, the organization has pledged to strictly comply with the anti-corruption measures to create a good corporate image and build the awareness to all levels of its employees.
