On 7 May 2025, DASTA joined tourism partners at Thailand Tourism Forum 2025 in Bangkok, participating in panel discussions sessions and promoting its sustainable tourism development at the exhibitions.

Mr. Sorawong Thienthong, Minister of Tourism and Sports, gave keynote speech at the opening ceremony under the theme “Thailand’s Tourism Vision: Global Alignment, Local Impact in a Disrupted World”, emphasizing important goals of reshaping Thailand’s tourism to be in line with global trends, including the changes in economy, technology, and smart tourism, as well as promoting grassroots economy and establishing long-term sustainability for Thailand’s tourism industry.

He also highlighted Bo Suak Village in Nan Province, a village recently recognized by UN Tourism as one of the Best Tourism Villages 2024 and the first of its kind in Thailand, as a strong example of how community-based tourism can successfully support sustainable development.

This year “Thailand Tourism Forum” is hosted by the collaboration between Ministry of Tourism and Sports and UN Tourism under the theme “Navigating Global Tourism Trends: Strengthening Thailand’s Tourism Industry” at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld, Bangkok. It welcomed more than 500 participants both onsite and online, including representatives from the public and private sectors and international organizations.

At this event, DASTA team – through joint effort of Corporate Communication Office, Community Capacity Development Office, Community-based Tourism Office, and Sustainable Tourism Knowledge Management Office – successfully showcased DASTA’s sustainable tourism development tools, best practices, and case studies to all participants from different sectors.
