“DASTA wins the SSR PATA Grand and five more PATA Gold Awards,
highlighting successful sustainable tourism development projects”

On 27 August 2025, Mr. Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, Director-General of DASTA, along with DASTA executives and officers attended the 2025 “PATA Grand & Gold Awards” ceremony hosted during the PATA Travel Mart (PTM) 2025 by Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) during 26-28 August 2025 at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok.
DASTA team, headed by the Director-General, received total of six PATA awards, including the PATA Sustainability & Social Responsibility (SSR) Grand Award as well as five PATA Gold Awards in the same broad category.


The awards included:
> Sustainability & Social Responsibility (SSR) Grand Award (only one award in all of 10 SSR categories):
1) ‘Sustainable Cultural Heritage Preservation of the Ban Na Ton Chan Homestay Community Enterprise’, Sukhothai Province
> SSR Gold Awards (there are 10 awards for each of 10 SSR categories):
1) Destination Resilience (All Destinations) category – ‘Creative Spaces Revitalizing the Old Town into a Lively Heritage District’, Songkhla Province;
2) Best Women Empowerment Initiative category – ‘Women’s Empowerment in Driving Community-Based Tourism: A Case Study of Ban San Thang Luang, Chiang Rai Province’;
3) Best Youth Empowerment Initiative category – ‘SE For Youth in Thailand - Loei Youth Saving Group’, Loei Province;
4) Best Climate Action Initiative (Destination) category – ‘Carbon Neutral Community-based Tourism Prototype’, development tool by DASTA; and
5) Tourism for All: Best Inclusion and Diversity Initiative category - ‘Community based tourism for All: CBT for All’, a development tool by DASTA.


These significant successes reflected the development potentials of sustainable and creative tourism of Thailand, highlighting the quality and readiness of sustainable and creative tourism destinations and development tools that developed from the strong collaboration between DASTA, local communities, and all relevant stakeholders. With PATA Grand and Gold awards as guarantees, DASTA reenforced its position as a leading sustainable tourism organization at national and international levels.

Moreover, DASTA also congratulated Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) who won 2 Gold Awards in the category of 1) Best Integrated Digital Marketing Campaign (Destination) and 2) Best Travel Photography, under ‘Marketing’ broad category, showcasing Thailand’s tourism marketing and promotion potentials.
